Activities
There is no lack of things to see and do during your stay in Barbados, and there's something to suit most interests.

Suggested places of interest in the Bridgetown area include Pelican Village, which is an arts and crafts centre, the Public Buildings, home of the Parliament; Fountain Gardens; Trafalgar Square and Queen's Park with colonial-style buildings housing an art gallery and two theatres.

There are tours that can take your above and below the land. The Bajan Helipcopter offers a "flightseeing" tour; and the Atlantic Submarine - a glass bottom submarine ride allowing passengers to view the beauty of the deep. For fun on the water, try the Jolly Roger and Bajan Queen cruises. These are day and evening cruises and include complimentary drinks on board, a BBQ meal, lots of dancing, fun and a fabulous view of the coastline.

The Bridgetown Careenage houses a number of other charter vessels from sailboats to deep sea fishing.

For a more "spirited" tour, try the Mount Gay Rum Visitors Centre and the Bank Beer Brewers tour.

The parish of St. James and St. Peter otherwise known as the "Gold Coast" features calm waters and houses luxury hotels. Places to visit include Holetown, the site of the first settlement in 1627; St. James Parish Church; Folkestone Marine Park and Visitors Centre; and the Sir Frank Hudson Sugar Museum.

St. Peter parish boasts the Barbados Wildlife Reserve; Grenade Hall Forst and Signal Station; Speightstown; Farley Hill National Park; and Nicholas Abbey-one of the island's oldest houses.

The northern part of the island is St. Lucy, home of the popular Animal Flower Cave with its rock pools, sea anemones and dramatic ocean views.

St. Andrew features numerous hills and breathtaking views; and can visit the island's pottery industry at Chalky Mount; and an incredible view of the east coast fro Barclays Park; and the islands last surviving windmill at Morgan Lewis.

Don't miss the unspoiled and dramatic beauty of Bathsheba in St. Joseph parish; and for walking tours of beautiful gardens and views there's the Amdromeda Gardens and the Flower Forst.

The parish of St. John has one of the island's most spectacular views from its historic parish church, as well as the serenity and beauty of Codrington College.

St. Philip, which is on the southeast coast includes the Crane Beach and Sam Lord's Castle. Inland is the Barbados Zoo and Oughterson Plantation.

The parish of Christ Church, where Surfview is situated in, is the unofficial windsurfing capital of Barbados and has been the site of the World Windsurfing Championships. The town of Oistens is home of the fish market and the Chase Vault-the site of the mysterious "moving coffins".

St. Michael parish is the home of Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados. For history lovers there is Garrsion Historic Area, National Cannon Collection and the Barbados Museum.

The inland parish of St. George is well known for the historic Gun Hill Signal Station with it's guardian lion carved out of solid rock. The Farncia Plantation House features wonderful antiques and gardens.

And St. Thomas is outstanding with all its natural wonders including Welchman Hull Gully with its botanical delights and Harrison's Cave, and underground tour showcasing stalagtites and stalagmites.
