The three-bedroom cottage has vaulted ceilings, hardwood and tile floors, French doors, tile countertops, and an open floor plan, and is nicely decorated. Ceiling fans are located in every room and commercial electric power is backed up with solar power and a generator.
The kitchen is fully equipped refrigerator/freezer, icemaker, microwave, full size gas range, automatic coffee maker and blender.
The living & dining area has comfortable furniture, with a pull-out couch if needed. VHF radio, satellite TV, cassette and a CD player, so bring your favorite tunes.
The 3 bedrooms have A/C with 2 queen beds 1 and one set twin beds, with plenty of storage. All bed linens, towels and blankets are supplied except beach towels.
Laze away the afternoon on the screened porch in a hammock and enjoy the hummingbird feeders, birdbath and wild orchids. Our wrap around deck has an outside shower and gas BBQ grill. This deck leads to a three-story lookout with a magnificent view of Sea of Abaco and surrounding islands. Great for sun tanning and stargazing! | |
Activities
Lubbers Quarters is a 350 acre island conveniently located in protected Abaco sound. Take a walk along one of the many beaches and gather shells, sandollars, seastars, conch and many other objects which wash upon the shore, beachcombing couldn’t be better! Come and meet the friendly residents and enjoy “Cracker P’s” the only restaurant/bar on this Island. The best-smoked fish dip around!!
Hope Town, our closest town on the island of Elbow Cay, is 10-15 minutes by boat. Hopetown has a picturesque harbour, a loyalist settlement dating back to the 1700’s, and a lighthouse dating back to 1863. The settlement has charming old houses with pastel colors, on narrow streets with plenty of restaurants, sightseeing and shopping. Also on Elbow Cay is beautiful Tahiti Beach, and the White Sound area with additional restaurants and marinas.
Man-o-war Cay is known for its boat building industry and sailshop and they also have restaurants and shopping.
Little Harbour, located south, is an anchorage and was home to internationally known bronze artist Randolph Johnson whose foundry and art studio are still open to the public
The Abacos are a paradise for sportspeople. Bonefish, sailfish, grouper, kingfish, dolphin, wahoo, tuna, snapper and more abound in the crystal clear turquoise waters. Dive for lobster in season. There are many guides throughout the area, offering deep sea fishing, scuba, and bonefishing, on the flats. The reefs have been delighting divers and snorkeling for years as the third largest barrier reef surrounds Abaco, making both diving and snorkeling superb. There are many underwater coral seaparks in the area including Sandy Cay, Pelican Cay National Park and Fowl Cay.
Marsh Harbour is the largest town in the area, 10-15 minutes away, and offers great restaurants, several supermarkets, liquor stores, and plenty of duty free shopping at Solomon's Mine and John Bull. There are also gift shops and boutiques with original artwork and straw goods. | |
