The Turks and Caicos Islands, and Provo in particular offer an endless array of activities to help make your vacation a truly memorable one. Below we've listed several of the activities you can enjoy while staying at Ocean Palms. On our links page you will find links to several sites that provide more detail about each of these activities.
GOLF - Provo is home to a beautiful championship 18 hole golf course just minutes away from Ocean Palms. The Provo Golf and Country Club has been consistently rated among the top 10 courses in the Caribbean by Travel and Leisure Magazine and Barrons. It's blend of lush greens, long fairways and rugged limestone outcroppings make it a challenging round. More detail can be found here - Provo Golf Club
FISHING - Enjoy some of the best fishing you'll find anywhere in the world. There are many sport fishing companies operating from the marinas in Provo. Half day and full day trips are available. Marlin, tuna, barracuda and wahoo can all be found in these waters. Bone fishing is also popular and one of the best spots in the islands is directly across the road from Ocean palms in Flamingo Lake. BOATING - Several operators offer cruises of varying length as well as sunset, dinner and evening cruises. Sail or power it's up to you. You can also rent your own small boat for some leisurely exploring. A few operators will even drop you off with a picnic lunch on one of the deserted cays and pick you up when your done enjoying the ultimate in privacy. Check our links page for more information.
DIVING - What would this section be without mentioning the diving in and around the Turks and Caicos. These waters are internationally recognized for providing some of the best diving anywhere. In fact many of he visitors to the Turks and Caicos are making the trip solely for the diving. There are many quality dive operators on the island, many of whom we link to on the links page. There is also some incredible snorkeling around the island. While you can enjoy this activity right from the water access point at Ocean palms, there are also some beautiful reefs close to shore around the island. One of the best places is the Princess Alexandria underwater reef located on the north shore. It's a public beach located just off the Coral Gardens Condominiums. NorthWest point is also a great spot. There's information and directions for these as well as several other spots, contained in the booklet at Ocean Palms.
TENNIS - Many resorts around the islands have tennis courts. The Allegro, Provo Golf and Country Club, The Sands, Club Med, Erebus Inn, Grace Bay and Beaches all have courts, some of which are lit for night time play.
PARASAILING - If souring 300 feet above Grace Bay is something you want to try then contact Turtle Parasailing. Solo or tandem flights available.
SHOPPING - Provo offers many small boutique and souvenir shops. Stop by the Ports of Call, Market Place and Center Square areas for clothing, beach wear, gifts and souvenirs. | |
