A village of around 800 people, right on the Southern Lagoon, south of Belize City. You will meet some of the most beautiful people in the world. Go birding. Go hiking. Go swimming in Soldiers' Creek. Go caving and see the bats and monkies. Go fishing. Go on a manatee tour..if you are there at the right time in the fall or spring you may be able to watch manatee health assesments being done. Go to the drumming circle and meet everyone. Have a cool one at Gentles or buy gourmet coffee from Jill at the Sugar Shack. The folks at the Manatee Lodge will take care of everything you want or need, you will not go hungry there. I call this my home away from home. Go, go now, log off and run to the nearest airport...you will not want to come back.
