Activities
Akumal, Mexico and The Riviera Maya provide endless opportunities for discovery and wonder. Incredible turquoise waters ease up to miles of white sandy beaches. Rich jungle lands hold the ruins of one of history's most fascinating civilizations.

Akumal is an excellent base for day trips to Tulum, Coba, and Chichen Itza . On the way home from the ruins take a refreshing swim in the cool clear waters of a cenote.

Visitors can appreciate the region's varied flora and fauna by exploring Sian Ka'an Nature Reserve, Mexico's largest protected area. Sian Ka'an encompasses a many ecosystems: semi evergreen tropical forest, wetlands, savanna and ocean. An abundance of animals inhabit the rich lands of Sian Ka'an, jaguar, puma, ocelot, margay, jaguarundi, howler monkeys, crocodiles and over 345 species of birds.
Guided day trips to the reserve can be arranged through Amigos de Sian Ka'an, a respected local conservation group. Tours out of Akumal are easily arranged. Luna Azul Condominiums will be happy to facilitate arrangements for guided day trips.
