Tarpon: Because of its' unique location, the Sittee River offers one of the best maturation grounds for tarpon. The proximity of the Anderson and Boom Creek lagoons and their mangroves are ideal for the development of "Baby Tarpon". Tarpons are considered babies up to 60 pounds.
Snook: Snook are also plentiful in the river and adjacent lagoons. Delighted recent guests have caught and released snook up to 26 pounds.
Bonefish & Permit: Bonefish are plentiful around the nearby cayes - usually within a half hour boat ride from the mouth of the Sittee River. The elusive Permit are found in the nearby flats. However, for the dedicated permit fishermen, we offer a two day trip to Punta Icacos flats in Southern Belize.
General Trolling: The waters along the Barrier Reef offer some of the best Barracuda, Kingfish and Wahoo. In December and January, the Grouper run is the best in the world. There are various tournaments in Belize that offer Marlin, Sailfish, Kingfish, etc. Check with us for dates. | |
