I cannot recommend Kitty's Place Posted By RC on 10-31-2004 1:30:19pm Kitty's place is pretty and peaceful. All in all I had a nice time (while I was there). However, after returning to the United States, Kitty's Place charged my credit card without authorization to do so. This, despite the fact that I had settled with them at the time of check out. I signed the bill at that time for the balance - no more - no less. This was a complete abuse of trust and I cannot recommend Kitty's Place because of it. To make matters worse, when I was checking out of Kitty's Place I reported to them that they had incorrectly charged me. At that time, the person was very friendly and adjusted the bill accordingly. A few other points. They did all this despite the fact that I agreed to change rooms at THEIR request because they had double booked. Also, if you do go, make sure they do not give you faulty equipment. The snorkel gear they provided me with was broken and could have ruined the trip had the snorkeling instructer not given me his personal gear to use. On the cave hike - - which is dangerous to begin with - - they gave us faulty head lamps, i.e., they did not keep a charge! The hike was dangerous without this added problem. I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend Kitty's Place.

There is no personal service and employees are completely apathetic. The beach was the only dirty one we saw in all of Belize--absolutely filthy and no one cared. Waiting for a drink in the bar took anywhere from 30-45 minutes and that is when you were the only person sitting there. Incredible! The rooms are very basic and matched with the lack of service, not worth what "Kitty" charges!
