Vacation Fraud :: The Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina :: BahamasVacation Fraud
Posted By William Shropshire on 11-10-2004 8:56:01am

Can not reach at website given,
www.TAINOVACATIONS.COM". We were told
the information would be on that website within 3 days.

We cannot reach anyone at telephone
number "1-800-513-4520", it sounds
like a fax line.

Money was paid towards this vacation
and we were advised to cancel.

Would you keep us posted as to what
the results are regarding this problem?

Yes, this is very very FRAUDELENT!!!
I complained earlier on another post and I'm complaining again!!!
Not only did I finally get in touch with 2 different managers, but I had to argue with them. They refused to give me a refund!!!!! I asked for a refund over and over, advising I have no interest and I didn't want to take their vacation. They stated because it's past the 7 days, I couldn't get one, which was a load of crap. Within 7 days, my vacation package was not as promised and I couldn't get through to their line, which I think is part of the plan. The girl called and left a message for me the 7th day, stating they tried calling me 4 times, which was a LIE that was their first attempt!!!!!
I advised the manager Mr Branch and Mr Angel, that I would not buy any of their properties. They cut the cost in half and threw in a free rental car and gave me an extra day in Orlando.
SO WHAT!!!! I still didn't want it, even if it's cheap. They charged me total of $299. However, after I pay airfare, shuttle services to and from resort, parking the car daily at their cheapee Holiday Inn in Orlando, parking at the Theme park, buying more theme park tickets, food and bug repellent (I'm sure), it'll all add up!! I'm not impressed at all.
I am not looking forward to having to drive an hour here and there just to have a good time either!!! Not my idea of a relaxing vacation. They told me transportation was included at the sales pitch, that's why I bought it 4 weeks ago.
Then the manager, Mr Angel, told me they have an outside marketing company calling people. They have no control over what they say, transportation was never included. They could promise you the moon doesn't mean they're actually offering what these people promise!!!!!
I'll probably do the Orlando and the Bahamas trips at different times.
I'm not interested in sitting for hours through presentations for something I don't want to buy.
I didn't listen to my inner voice telling me to say NO THANK YOU in the beginning.. It was GREED that made me think, this was a good deal. This is exactly what I get!!!
Never ever ever ever AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! for all you others, be VERY CAUTIOUS!!

The Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina :: Bahamas :: Re: Vacation FraudRe: Vacation Fraud - Philip Posted on: 04-15-2005 6:31:59pm

I think that it is funny that many of you are claiming that it is a fraud, but you have never even been on the vactation. I was told about the sales presentation when I ordered the package and knew what to expect. I had no problems accessing the website or making the reservation. I think that people are just too paranoid. THis was not a scam. It was legit.

Just got back from our not so free vacation. First sale pitch and waiting for vouchers lasted 6:30 hrs. The second one almost 3 hours. The last one they could tell we had had enough we actually got out in 90 min. They took our best days. We did not have much vacation time. The cruise is a 5 hr boat trip to the Grand Bahamas. Then you stay at a motel which is not on the beach. The vacation village in Ford Lauderdale is a Golf resort and it is an hour driving through heavy travic to get to the beach. Summer bay in Orlando was probably the nicest. We had one whole day to ourself and went to Epcot.

The Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina :: Bahamas :: Re: Vacation FraudRe: Vacation Fraud - kidskill Posted on: 04-11-2005 4:09:57pm

I have just got off the phone with them, and they were able to pull me up immediately. I even was able to get a downgrade when I realized that my package was to costly. They refunded my balance and gave me a lower package. Try these numbers: 18007904157 and 18887829847. There is about a ten minute wait with the second number, but you will get someone.

The Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina :: Bahamas :: Re: Vacation FraudRe: Vacation Fraud - ofadeyibi Posted on: 04-09-2005 1:20:38am

Guys when I found this website I got kind of scared because I had bought about $900 worth of packages. I did get in contact with them and they refunded my what I asked for. My refund posted back into my account in a couple of days. I kept a disney and a cancun vacation though, now that I know that they are for real Im thinking maybe I should have kept the two other cancun vacations I had. Oh well, I plan to use these vacations this summer. e-mail me if you have any questions...ofadeyibi@yahoo.com

I am also having trouble logging on to the web site, but before I jump to conclusions, I think i will do some calling. My husband and I have done these vacations before, and no, they are not as simple as 123, that is why they are soooooo cheap. I got the orlando, daytona, bahama cruse for 158.00 for the disney tickets and we do have to listen to the 90min crap, but once againg, it's cheap. 158.00 for 7 nights in a hotel, you can't beat that! I hope that if you are having trouble that you use some of the other numbers and wbe sites before you jump to conclusions too. I fyou want somthing simple and trouble free, go to a travel agency!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS: I'LL BE GLAD TO ANSWER THEM.
I posted on 2/15 to let everyone know that so far I hadn't had any trouble. We just got back from Orlando, Cruise to Bahamas, & Ft Lauderdale. FANTASTIC TIME. hotels were VERY nice. The only complaints: the reservation rep PROMISED me 2 connecting rooms in the Orl.hotel w/ microwave and fridge,(bringing 5 kids w/ us & didn't want to be far from them). i called from the vacation to complain that kids were across & down hall from us, summer bay did refund me the condo upgrade amt that i pd, but the hotel remedied my problem. summer bay also promised rooms next to each other on the boat (once again opposite sides of the ship).
ALL in all it was a great vacation. i plan on taking the 3/2 vacation i pd $29 for, along with the 2 free 3/2 vacations that were given to me HINT:cuz it took them 3 hours to convince me to buy their package. so i am getting my money's worth.
BY THE WAY: Their resort is beautiful, but 90 minute tour turned into a 3 hours, & we couldn't get our disney tickets til they signed off on our pass.
HINTS FOR DISNEY:MAGIC KINGDOM WAS MAGICAL and MGM'S show: FANTASMIC(end of night) was SPECTACULAR. FAST PASS WAS NOT XTRA CHARGE(found out at end of night, BRING AUTOGRAPH BOOK AND CAMERA. THEIR PHOTOGRAPHERS WILL TAKE PICTUREs W/ CHARACTERS, PUT THEM ON A CARD, WHEN U GET HOME PULL THEM UP ON INTERENT AND PURCHASE THEN. I learned all this after the fact.

If all of you people feel that you have been scammed. Why do you answer the telephone? This is the worong website for all of you people who dont know how to work the web. The website is www.beginmyvacation. and it MUST be entered in the address bar, NOT A SEARCH ENGINE. What i dont understand is why you people are giving out your credit card numbers over the phone. Have you not heard of identity theft???? You are all screaming fraud. There is no FRAUD here. They will supply you ALL with wjhat you have purchased, if you people would relax and let someone explain to you what you are doing wrong. My advice for all of you is to relax, and let these people do thier jobs by supplying you with a vacation. You obviously wanted it, or you wouldnt have given your credit card number out on the phone, right? YOU HAVE 7 DAYS TO CANCEL FROM THE DATE THAT YOU HAVE PURCHASED. IT TAKES ABOPUT 24 HOURS FOR THEM TO GET YOUR INFO INTO THIER SYSTEM, SO YES THAT BRINGS IT TO 6 DAYS. MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME!!!!!!!!! and yes, they may not be able to access your info right away but you do haev to allow for human error (clerical error) a typo, they happen, im sure you all have made them before. STOP COMPLAINING AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE VACATION YOU JUST INVESTED IN! or call them within the recission period and they will gladly refund you.

The Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina :: Bahamas :: Re: Vacation FraudRe: Vacation Fraud - bonnie twigg Posted on: 03-24-2005 8:30:50am

if you are reading this you got caught to. 558.00 was taken out of my bank before i even put the phone down to them.
they are quick and very convincing.
i tried to cancel the payment within minutes of putting the phone down, guess what to late. the customer service number they gave me is a reservation number which doesnt understand this scam going on at all.

The Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina :: Bahamas :: Re: Vacation FraudRe: Vacation Fraud - Linda Posted on: 03-23-2005 8:08:59pm

I was also contacted on 3-18-05, having WON a vacation package. They said I could go to this website after 24 hrs and get the full package details. Boy, DID I!! I had to cancel my card, etc.
These people have to be stopped and prosecuted!!!

IT TOOK A LITTLE TIME BUT THEY DID DO IT.A SALES REP. NAMED BRYAN C. IS THE ONE WHO DID ALL THE HARD WORK IN GETTING THINGS DONE. I think that if one really wants to stop these people from continuing doing this, we should contact the me-dia and tell them to warn other people
from being victims of this kind of scam
So more people be aware of this situa-ton.

The Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina :: Bahamas :: Re: Vacation FraudRe: Vacation Fraud - COLIN Posted on: 03-17-2005 12:14:52am

Offer direct to unsolicited telephone call staing I had one a competition in which a family member had entered with ARGOS STORES and / or DEBENHAM STORES GROUP prior to Christmas.
This was possible as with most people a lot of competition offers are linked with purchases at that time of year.
So this did sound plausible, also, you required to listen to their recorded message providing this info. then without hanging up dial 215 to be connected.
This connected me with an American voiced female who purported her name to be 'PRECIOUS'who stated that this offer was legitimate and that it was linked with the DISNEY RESORT in ORLANDO FLORIDA.
All that was required was to pay £213 towards insurance towards SUMMER BAY RESORTS, this would be for a family of 4 on a 10 day residential at the Summer Bay resort, inclusive of a stay in the Bahamas and trip to Disneyland theme park(s).
Too good to be true, I kept this going and did fall foul to the 'hard sale techniques' offering my DEBIT CARD details for payment.
I was provided the WWW.BEGINMYVACATION.COM website and to insert a promotional code and password.
On checking the website it would not be recognised.
THIS IS THE ONLY RECOGNITION OF THIS WEBSITE ON AN INTERNET SITE...thanks!!!
I immediately contacted my bank and had the transaction registered as a FRAUD and my account changed, which I have been told by the banks fraud section will protect me against them taking payment.
I will be making further enquiry regarding this fraud ...PLEASE BE AWARE!!!

THEN THEY TOOK THE 250 AND THE 50 OUT AGIAN UNAUTHORIZED! AFTER I RAISED HOLLY HELL I WAS GIVEN THE VACATION FREE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE MONEY WOULD BE PUT BACK. I HAD TO GET THE BANK INVOLVED AND CLOSE MY BANK CARD OUT ALSO DID 3-WAY CALLS WITH MY BANK AND SUMMERBAY. HOPEFULLY EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHY NOW; I HOPE!!!!!

I had a problem logging into the website and called 888-782-9847 and within 2 hours I was able to log in. Call them and tell them you are having trouble with your log in and they will fix it. There is a long hold time but once they answer they are very friendly. The websites are www.beginmyvacation.com and vacations.summerbayresort.com (no www) and both are working. If you bought your package from Flamingo Bay and not Summer Bay the website is www.gotoflamingobay.com. Port and service fees for the cruise are extra and you do have to pay your room taxes up front but once you log onto the website all this information is listed in the terms and conditions. They should however alert you to the extra fees when they sell you the package.

The Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina :: Bahamas :: Re: Vacation FraudRe: Vacation Fraud - Customer Service Agent Posted on: 03-07-2005 3:50:38pm

I work for this company! We are not fraud. 99% of the problems listed on this site are human error, the reservations telephone number is 888-782-9847. The website MUST be put in the ADDRESS bar NOT the search bar. You can even check on the bbb.org for Summer Bay Resort located in Clermont, FL. The reasons why at times you cannot get through to the 800-790-4157 and 800-513-4524 numbers is due to high call volume but just keep trying! They are open from 9am to 9pm eastern standard time! The 888-782-9847 number will more than likely have some what of a wait time on that but someone will be happy to assist you! If you have gotten to this website by putting in www.beginmyvacation.com or www.tainovacations.com then you have put it in the WRONG bar on your computer, make SURE you put it in the address bar! If you have anymore questions feel free to call us at the 888-782-9847! Have a magical day!

The Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina :: Bahamas :: Re: Vacation FraudRe: Vacation Fraud - Jo Posted on: 03-07-2005 8:42:53am

I am in the UK and I too fell for this fantastic offer after a phone call.
This was at the beginning of Feb.,I was told the details of my vacation would be on WWW.beginmyvacation.com in 24hours...guess what? Yep they didn't recognise my login details....
I checked for the next 5 days and still got nothing ,I called SummerBay resorts and they said they had no details as yet,but couldn't offer an explanation why.
Then I found this site,I phoned my c/c provider who said the money had already been taken,I said I thought it may be a fraud and the reply was' i don't need any more details from you as we have other cases on file regarding this one'.
Today some of the cash has been returned to my account, but there is still £85 missing,I have tried to call the number I was given and guess what reply I get...'thank you for calling summer bay resorts blah blah blah..owing to hurricane jean our reservation office is closed until monday september 27th' oh really!!!!
I think summer bay resorts is a genuine concern, but somewhere along the line there is some fraudsters who are using them as an umbrella.
In hindsight I should have realised that it was dodgy from the moment I received the phonecall...they said I had won this trip in a promotion,I am not listed in the phonebook and had not entered any competitions.......
Beware if you get a phonecall out of the blue...I let my guard down...never again.

It seems to me that many of you are deciding to stop patment on your card even before you have checked things out. Many of you have not been able to view the websites you have been provided. I am not sure if this is because your conncection or computer or if it's the website itself but every time I log on I can see all my infomation as well as my package that I signed up for.

I seems as if most of you, sorry to say, are succeptible to what anyone says. First your sold on something that has every flag for a scandal then you cancel your card when someone says it's a fraud without doing any research. It would be smart to LOOK AT THINGS FIRST before making any harsh decisions. I don't think this is a "too good to be true" situation. You get what you want; a nice vacation at a cheaper than normal price, and they get what they want; people to look at their resort and a little cash to offset their expenses. I have done a little more research and so far it sems to be fine. But if I come up with more information I'll definitely post it here. When I received the call I definaitely was aware that it could be fraud. That is how I found this site. I'm pretty sure this is how many of you found this site also. But when reading all of the posts it it appears to me that a lot of people are jumping the gun and warning others of a problem that may not exist. Read the rest of the posts and decide for yourself.

But do us a favor and be wise. Check things out before giving someone a bad name.

Thanks Laurie yes, the website address is vacations.summerbayresort.com. where you can see your package and print your confirmation letter. Only drawback could be hidden charges but at least I know that I haven't lost my money. To everybody - try this site and you should see your package - at last!

The Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina :: Bahamas :: Re: Vacation FraudRe: Vacation Fraud - Bruce Posted on: 03-04-2005 9:48:55am

I logged into the Murat site and an ad poped up saying I was the 1 million visitor to the site and that I had won an 11 day 8 night vacation for $598 double occupantcy. I was suppose to be able to log in to: beginmyvaction.com. That was Monday, I still haven't been able to log on the site. I have read a lot of people have been scamed for falling for this gimmic. The people who I spoke with was from Summer Bay Resort and explained all I would be oblicated to do is listen to their 60-90 minute presentation. I still haven't received the vacation package in the mail, nor have I received any conformation by e-mail. I am beggining to believe I was another victam of a huge scam operation. I looked up summer bay resort on the online yellow pages and called the number there, the woman gave me an alternate website which did include my account. the website is: vacations.summerbayresort.com, try this and see if you can access your information. I hope this helps.

The Flamingo Bay Yacht Club & Marina :: Bahamas :: Re: Vacation FraudRe: Vacation Fraud - Laurie Posted on: 03-03-2005 3:22:42pm

I got hosed. I called and put a hold on my credit card right after I found this site, which was about 5 min. after I got off the phone with the "sales reps" and it had already been posted on my account. Boy do they work fast. The name I was given was Jaime Williams, does this sound familiar? I also *69 my phone to get the number they called me from, after all the other numbers failed, and my phone just shut off. beginmyvacation.com is a hoax, I just can't believe I fell for it. I am going to try to contact the better business bureau and find out how to report this so that something can be done.

I am looking into the matter myself. Although many of you have questions I wouldn't take any harsh actions before due dilligence. If you can't get to the websites provided look on your credit card statement it has the phone number of the merchant try calling that number. If all else fails then talk to your credit card compnay. They'll be able to reverse the charge. Even if they don't cover fraud VISA not you credit card company will refund payment on goods or serveices never received. For those of you who have or will be going on these trips and have them all scheduled please let us know if it was worth the two hour phone call.

I SERIOUSLY THINK I HAVE BEEN CONNED AS WELL!! ON FRIDAY "SUMMERBAY RESORT" IN FLORIDA PHONED ME TO OFFER A GREAT DEAL FOR £213,10 DAYS,4 PEOPLE. CHOICE OF EITHER DISNEY PASSES OR UNIVERSAL STUDIO PASSES!!!!I WAS SCEPTICAL OF THEM SO I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER (who was even more convincing).I WAS ON THE PHONE FOR 50 MINUTES! THEY ALSO OFFERED LOTS OF OTHER THINGS THAT I COULD BENEFIT OF WHILE I WAS THERE... ALL I WAS OBLIGATED TO DO WAS TO GO HOME AND TELL EVERYONE WHAT A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY I HAD! BUT WHEN I TRIED TO LOGIN TO THE WEBSITE OTHER PEOPLES NAMES WERE COMING UP,NOT MINE.SO I RANG THE COMPANY TO CANCEL AND THEY SAID IT WOULD TAKE A FEW DAYS TO REGISTER. BUT ON THE INTERNET IT SAID 24HRS.I ALSO ASKED IF IT WAS "TIME SHARE" THEY SAID YES! I WAS NOT TOLD THIS OVER THE PHONE WHEN BOOKING IT! how stupid do i feel now & how do we stop people from making the same mistake?????????

I have also just recently "won" a vacation, from this company. I have already travelled and i had a great time. I stayed in a 1 bedroom condo whilst i was in Orlando, and my other locations almost as nice. The cruise was one of the best vacations i have been on in ages and i would absolutely do it again. Because i had such a fabulous time i deciede to purchase a 3 bedroom condo timeshare at the Summer Bay Resort. I cant wait to get back there next year so i can have more fun. All of the representitives were extremely cordial, and assisted me in a quick timely manner. I do hope that anyone understands that not ALL vacationers will have the best trip of thier lives, but im sure that these people do thier best to accomodate you as they can. They did it for me!! I am not one to go with those telesales "winnings" but for some reason they got me on a good day and i said why not? I am so glad that i did. This extremely reputable company comes very highly reccommended!!!!!! e-mail me if you have an questions on the legitimacy of these trips. I will give you my absolute honest opinion about each location i have been to.

I purchased the insurance for the trip and due to reading "fraud" reviews, I became anxious and contacted the insurance company. I feel that I have been protected with insurance from a reliable company. I am hoping to enjoy my vacation which is scheduled for June.

We too received a call with very similiar offers. The only thing is it's under www.beginmyvacation.com, but when you go to the site it has information on it abou Flamingo Bay Resort and they mentioned the resort. In reading the fine print it states that you have to listen to a 90 minute presentation. It also reads that you can cancel your vacation within 7 days. Is this the same thing as the tainovacations.com? Their office is closed until tomorrow morning. I'm thinking I'm going to cancel. Too all of the other people who posted positive remarks about this, please contact me.

I also had a guy call me and said that I had been chosen for a special promo vacation pkg. Disney vacation 8 days/7nites + stay at daytona or coco beach 3d/2nites, bahamas cruise, cancun 5d/4 nites, wknd pkgs for $29/ea all for $346.00-truly "too good to be true" deal. I also called the 800-513-4524 which was no longer in use. Then I logged onto the tainovacation.com website & saw all of this fraud stuff and peoples messages and I panicked, called to cancel my charge card-unfortunately it had already been processed. Today I received my statement with the chgs from "Summer Bay Travel Coop -888-782-9847, where my 1st rep was quite rude to me after I expressed my concerns about the legitmacy of this travel pkg-if I wanted to cancel then go ahead and do it she said and hung up on me. Well, I called back and spoke w/a much friendlier girl who said that she wasn't sure why they gave those other #'s or website-she indicated to go to www.beginmyvacation.com" and you would be able to pull up your pkg and see what all you had purchased. She made that extra effort to try and correct the issues and they are the one's that make the reservations for your trip. As we were talking she pulled up my pkg on this "beginmyvacation" website and was able to see my pkg. I might just decide to keep the pkg after all after I look at this website and review my pkg again just one more time to be sure. I hope this will help others!

I, too, responded to a call received
on 1-19-05, regarding a "free vacation". My husband and I were planning to travel to Florida in Feb. and also go to Universal so it sounded
like a great package deel, including
another vacation to cocoa beach and the Bahamas, including cruise on Discovery Cruise Lines. They also threw in a 5 day vacation to Cancun,
Mexico. We paid $128.00 for the package plus $75.00 to upgrade to a
condo for accomodation. Sounded good.
I spoke to someone on the phone at the
800-513-4520 number and they said a rep
would call my back. I haven't heard
from them and have been unable to get
an answer in the past 4 days. I called
my credit card to cancel the transaction only to find they had already collected the money. I have
disputed the charges on account of fraud. I have fraud protection on that account. I do not believe they
are a ligitimate company.

I was just on the tainovacations website and just talked to a person about my vacation at the 800-790-4157 number. I think this is a real vacation, but after all the other costs it maybe isn't such a good deal. I live in north dakota and have to fly to florida, plus rent a car and drive to the different destinations. I only paid $600 for a 7 day trip plus 3day cruise, but after all the travel cost it will be like a 3000 dollar trip. Try typing www.tainovacations.com in the http line not in the search line.

I got a call from a salesman today offering a 7 nights, cruise, Bahamas, & Disney vacation for $138. (Obviously too good to be true) When I asked about a Better Business Bureau recommendation, I was put on hold, and then the line went dead. I went to the website he mentioned, and noticed that the pictures of the resorts looked like they were taken with a disposable camera, from a boat, out in the bay. It also mentioned that the Bahamas resort only had 68 rooms. Does that sound like any resort you've ever heard of? The website has "scam" written all over it.

My Dad feel for their scam. It happened Sunday night...I called on Monday and spoke with a woman named Robin ext 558. She asked why I was cancelling and I was truthful and told her I investagated the company and there are all kinds of stuff on the internet that the company is a fraud. She claimed that she cancelled the charge on his card. But just in case, he is going to the bank today to cancel the card, and put a stop on the transaction.
I also found other message boards that they used to call themselves Solo Vactaions.

I paid my money to tainovacations and when I dialed the 800-790-4157 number that I got from their website to get my username I got no answer the phone just rang and when I tried again to make reservations a lady picked up and said can you hold and never picked the phone back up.

Try 800-790-4157
This number is posted on their website, which is up and running.

These vacation packages are really not a good deal. I'd see about getting my money back.
