There are five studio villas with complete kitchens and two larger villas. There is a nearby restaurant in the village of Conch Bar and dinners can also be catered to your villa. All groceries can be in place if you send a faxed list of food you wish in advance. Local purchases are limited to fresh fish, lobster in season and basic staples such as eggs, potatoes etc. The beach is about one minute walk away and there are screened porches with spectacular views of the sea and the island. There are bikes and cars to rent by the day or week. | |
Activities
WHAT TO DO ON MIDDLE CAICOS ISLAND ... swimming, snorkeling, walking, bird watching, exploring, hidden beach picnics, fishing (over 35 kinds of game fish available with boats and guides available), nature trail, caves and shopping for local crafts. Adventure tours can be arranged with a boat to see the frigate birds, iguanas, other islands (such as East Caicos), plantation sites, game field and ruins of the ancient Lucayan Indians sites. Or- just relax and do NOTHING!
Swimming and snorkelling in the crystal clear water is possible year round. Atlantic trade winds keep the average temperature between 80 and 87 degrees F. Fresh clear air adds to the healthy tranquil atmosphere.
Explore the island on your own or with a local guide. Hike the Crossing Place Trail that runs the length of the island and watch for the rare and unusual birds that call Middle Caicos home. Bikes and cars can be rented by the day or week.
Boats and local guides are available for offshore or flats fishing. Over 35 kinds of game fish can be found in these waters and Middle Caicos is famous for excellent Bonefishing.
Shop the villages for unique local crafts.
